5 Rotavirusvaksine 1998, USA tetravalent, levende, oral vaksine
(RRV-TV = rhesus-human reassortant rotavirus vaccine) 3 doser ved alder 2, 3 og 4 mnd generelt godt tolerert feber, irritabilitet, nedsatt appetitt, magesmerter 3-5 dager etter 1. dose 50 % beskyttelse mot rotavirusdiaré 80 % beskyttelse mot kraftig rotavirusdiaré tetravalent, live, oral vaccine rhesus-human reassortant rotavirus vaccine 3 doses age 2, 3 and 4 months generally well tolerated fever, irritability, decreased appetite, abd. cramping 3-5-days after 1st dose Venezuela: 2200 infants. Febver >38,1 in 15 % (7% of controls) moderate (50 %) protection against any rotavirus diarrhoea high protection (80%) against severe rotavirus diarrhoea

6 RRV-TV og invaginasjon: pasient - kontrollstudie
studieperiode 1. nov juni 1999 studieområde: sykehus i 19 stater i USA tilfelle: alder 1-12 mnd, innlagt med diagnose invaginasjon 4 kontroller født på samme sykehus samme dag 429 tilfeller og 1763 kontroller odds ratio 25 for invaginasjon 3-7 dager etter 1. vaksinedose Reassortant rhesus-human rotavirus vaccine tetravalent - RRV-TV Vaksinen distribuert ra okt. 1998 Up to May 27, 1999, VAERS received 9 reports on intuss among vaccinees compared to 4 reports at all during past 7 years. Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System Vaccine distribution stopped Case control study initiated 19 states, where 80 % of the vaccine was distributed. Hospital discharge diagnoses for the year preceding the study - selected hospitals accounting for some 75 % of thes discharge diagn. notifications of intussusception after vaccinatioon most common age 4-8 months

studier i en rekke land > forsøkspersoner involvert i studiene av hver vaksine ingen alvorlige bivirkninger, spesielt ingen overhyppighet av invaginasjon ingen betydelig virusutskillelse etter vaksinasjon dokumentert effekt i industrialiserte land, ennå ikke ferdig utprøvd i utviklingsland
