AbbreviationFull name Data source and resolution Explanation and zonalstatstic Elev Elevation Based on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities, Norway). Resolution: 100x100 meter. The DEM is interpolated from contour lines of 20 m resolution from the national map series N50 (National Mapping Authorities). Zonalstatistic: mean. ElevRelRefElevation relative reliefBased on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. Defined as the difference between maximum and minimum elevation in each grid square. Zonalstatistic: range. Slope Based on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. Calculated as the maximum elevation difference from a target cell to any of its neighbouring squares. Calculated in ArcView Spatial Analyst 2.0. Zonalstatistic: mean. SlopeTerrVarSlope terrain variationBased on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. Defined as the standard deviation of observed slopes for the grid cell Calculated in ArcView Spatial Analyst. Zonalstatistic: standard deviation. PlanCurvPlan curvatureBased on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. First derivative of aspect, shows where aspect changes most/least. Calculated in ArcView Spatial Analyst. Zonalstatistic: mean. ProfCurvProfile curvatureBased on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. First derivative of slope, shows where slope changes most/least. Calculated in ArcView Spatial Analyst. Zonalstatistic: mean. CurvCurvatureBased on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. Calculated by standard option in ArcView Spatial Analyst 2.0. Positive curvature indicates that the surface is upwardly convex at that cell, a negative curvature indicates that the surface is upwardly concave and value of zero indicates that the surface is flat. Zonalstatistic: mean. RadHeatIndexRadiation heat indexBased on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. Calculated by the following formulae: tan (slope) x cos (aspect) (T. Økland 1996). Calculated in ArcView Spatial Analyst 2.0. Zonalstatistic: mean. AspUnFavAspect unfavourabilityBased on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. Expressed as deviation from SSW (225gradianes/202,5grades) (T. Økland 1996). Calculated in ArcView Spatial Analyst 2.0. Zonalstatistic: mean. TerrRuggTerrain ruggedness.Based on the '100 meter resolution digital elevation model' (DEM) from Statens kartverk (National Mapping Authorities). Resolution: 100x100 meter. Expresses the amount of elevation difference between adjacent cells (Riley et al. 1999). Calculated by the standard procedure TRI in ArcView GIS 9.1. Zonalstatistic: mean. PAnn, PJan, PFeb, PMar, PApr, PMay, PJun, PJul, PAug, PSep, POct, PNov, PDes Annual precipitation. January precipitation. Etc. Maps of annual and monthly mean values for precipitation, based on the 1961-90 normal, were estimated applying a residual kriging approach, including topographical information in the interpolation procedure, on station data (Tveito et al., 1997). Resolutions: 1x1 km. Zonalstatistic: mean.

TAnn, TJan, TFeb, TMar, TApr, TMay, TJun, TJul, TAug, TSep, TOct, TNov, TDec Annual temperature. January temperature. Etc. Maps of annual and monthly mean values for temperature, based on the 1961-90 normal, were estimated applying a residual kriging approach, including topographical information in the interpolation procedure, on station data (Tveito et al., 2000). Resolutions: 1x1 km. Zonalstatistic: mean. Evap, Runoff, RunoffCorrPre Evapotranpiration, hydrological runoff and runoff corrected precipitation, Based on the 1961-90 normal and estimated by applying a residual kriging approach, including topographical information in the interpolation procedure, on station data (Beldring et al., 2002). Resolutions: 1x1 km. Zonalstatistic: mean. GS, GDDGrowing season and growing degree days. The growing season map, defined as number of days with average temperature above 5ºC and growing degree days map, defined as accumulated degree sum above a defined reference temperature, here 5ºC, based on the 1961-90 normal, were estimated applying a residual kriging approach, including topographical information in the interpolation procedure, on station data (Skaugen and Tveito 2002). Lokal skala Interpolasjon fra ØK (N5) koter gir 10 meter oppløsning
13
15
Mikroskala Dataene må stort sett kartlegges selv
